Nankun Mountain, situated 150 kilometers from Shenzhen, is one of the best-preserved forest areas in Guangdong Province. The area is famed for its natural scenery and tranquility and an ideal place for city dwellers to get away from the daily grind.
Mount Heaven (Tiantang Feng), the major peak of Nankun Mountain, stands 1,210 metres above sea level. A visit in March will lead you to a beautiful sea of blossoming azaleas. If you choose to visit in summer, expect a cool, enjoyable trip despite temperatures reaching over 30 degree Celsius, as pleasant breezes blow through the mountains and keep you comfortable. If you have time, a hot spring bath and some authentic Nankun Mountain tea are also highly recommended.
